Matterhorn is iOS only for now.

Ratings & Reviews

Matterhorn lets you rate any place from 1 to 10 to share your overall rating on how much you enjoyed a place, from “just okay” to “absolutely unforgettable.”

Each rating you give contributes to the global Matterhorn average, helping travelers everywhere discover which places truly stand out. You can rate a destination in different ways:

  • Trip ratings:Each time you log or review a trip, you can give that specific visit its own rating.
  • Overall rating:On a place’s profile, you can set one overall rating that reflects your general impression of the destination, not just one particular trip.

For example, if you visited Rome, Italy three times and rated those trips 10, 7, and 9, your latest rating (9) automatically becomes your overall rating. But you can always change it! Maybe you decide Rome is an 8/10 overall, even if your last visit was your favorite. The choice is yours.

This flexibility helps you share both your trip-by-trip experiences and your lasting, overall take on a destination.

Yes! You can change your overall rating for any destination at any time. Just visit the place’s profile and update it whenever your perspective evolves.

You can also edit individual trip ratings or review ratings from your Travel Log, perfect if you revisit a place, discover something new, or simply feel differently after another experience.

If need be, you can always remove any rating or review from your profile or Travel Log. Just open the place, trip, or review you want to update, make your changes, or delete it completely.

Matterhorn keeps your travel story flexible, because opinions (and adventures) can always change.

Lists & Bucket Lists

Free members can create up to 10 custom Lists, perfect for organizing your favorite places and discoveries, from “Favorite Ski Towns” to “Top 25 Beaches in the World.” It’s completely up to you!

Matterhorn Pro gives you unlimited Lists, so you can create and organize as many collections as you want, without limits. This is ideal for trip planners and world travelers alike.

Yes! You can make any List public or private, and switch its visibility anytime.

Keep your personal Lists just for you, or share them with the Matterhorn community when you’re ready to inspire other travelers.

Your Bucket List is your personal roadmap of places you want to visit. It’s where you keep track of the destinations that inspire you most! Places can be added anytime to your Bucket List by navigating to a place’s profile, hitting the ‘+’ icon, and tapping ‘Bucket List’ to save it for later.

Lists are customizable collections for any theme or idea. They can be ranked or unranked and include places you have been, want to go, or simply love. Think:

  • Top 30 Beaches in Europe
  • Hidden Gems in Japan
  • North America Backpacking Trip Ideas
  • or Best Cities I’ve Ever Visited

Travel Log & Stats

Your Travel Log is a chronological record of everywhere you have been, by automatically organizing your trips by date.

It is your personal travel timeline, showing your journey unfold from your first adventure to your most recent one, all in one place. This is great for when you can’t remember the exact dates you visited somewhere.

Now, you have your entire life’s journey at a glance.

Matterhorn tracks your entire travel history and turns it into incredibly personalized insights. You can find your travel stats and can view:

  • Countries Visited
  • Cities Visited
  • Most Days Traveled
  • Most Miles Traveled
  • Most Time Spent in a Location
  • Total Trips
  • Most Trips (in a year)
  • Longest Distance from Home
  • and more

Matterhorn Pro unlocks Advanced Travel Stats, offering deeper insights and expanded analytics to help you understand every place you’ve been, your travel patterns, and your lifetime stats in even more detail than ever before.

Your traveler percentile shows how your travel history stacks up against the broader Matterhorn community. It is based on the destinations you have visited and your overall travel activity on the platform.

For example, landing in the Top 10% means you have explored more of the world than 90% of travelers on Matterhorn. The more you explore and log, the higher your percentile climbs.

It’s a fun way to see where you stand, stay motivated, and keep the adventures coming!

Profile & Social

Your digital passport is your Matterhorn profile. It is your travel identity on the platform, giving you and others a visual snapshot of your journey as an explorer.

It showcases the cities and countries you’ve visited, your Top 5 Favorite places, your travel stats, Travel Log, and even your Upcoming Trips. Think of it as everything that makes you, as a traveler, all in one place.
